We consider the olive-shaped cheekpiece to be the simplest and most common. The rings don't move, ensuring a more stable position in the mouth and more direct rein aids. The lips aren't pinched by this cheekpiece, making the rings unnecessary.

A single-joint mouthpiece has only one joint, which puts less pressure on the tongue than a double or multi-joint mouthpiece. This mouthpiece primarily acts on the layers and sides of the tongue. A single-joint mouthpiece is considered a standard mouthpiece.

Sweet Iron bits are made of iron and feature their famous blue color, achieved through heating during production. Upon contact with (humid) air, Sweet Iron develops a sweet-tasting, rusty surface that naturally stimulates saliva production. This promotes lathering, thus improving the horse's acceptance of the bit. This rusting (oxidation) process transforms the blue color of TRUST bits into silver or gray-brown, a desirable effect for Sweet Iron bits. If a Sweet Iron bit is not used for a period of time, a layer of brownish-orange rust may appear on the mouthpiece. This can be easily removed by wiping the mouthpiece with a damp cloth.
