L-tryptophan L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid in a horse's diet, necessary for the production of the important hormone serotonin, which is associated with mood and pleasure. L-tryptophan is included in So Kalm Solution at a safe level to meet daily requirements, particularly for high-strung or anxious horses that are likely to receive minimal concentrates and, therefore, may receive suboptimal levels of this key amino acid.

More recently, research has shown that the Chasteberry plant contains natural compounds that support key mood-regulating hormone levels, helping to maintain hormonal balance and reduce irritability and muscle tension, which can lead to unpredictable and difficult behavior, as well as a loss of concentration.

All ingredients are selected to ensure they fully comply with racing rules and FEI guidelines for clean sport.

Usage tips

For a 500 kg horse: 30 ml per day. An additional 30 ml can be given two hours before the event.

Maximum: 60 ml per day (divided into two meals).

Kalm should therefore be Introduced gradually and fed at the recommended rate for at least 7 days prior to any stressful activity, and can be safely fed long-term if necessary. The dosage can be reduced to 15 ml per day if the desired behavior is maintained. So Kalm Solution is a low-sugar, low-starch formulation, and therefore safe for horses and ponies requiring a low-sugar diet.
