Description

Hilton Herbs Aloe Vera for Animals can be given orally or applied to the skin. Aloe vera extract is traditionally used in herbal medicine for its beneficial effects on digestion and wound healing.

External use:

Liquid aloe vera is an excellent base for creating baths, gels and sprays; simply add plant tinctures or essential oils.
Aloe vera helps soothe superficial wounds: scratches, small cuts, stings, symptoms of dermatitis

Internal use:

Aloe vera juice is often recommended for digestive problems
Often used in herbal medicine to support horses suffering from gastric ulcers.

Aloe vera extract is a liquid that can be applied to the skin or ingested. Note that this liquid is twice as concentrated as aloe vera leaf juice. For more information, see the Ingredients tab.

Composition

2:1 Aloe Vera Extract. The aloe vera leaves are cut and washed to remove the aloin. They are then crushed, and the pulp and fibers are removed. After rapid pasteurization, the aloe vera juice is concentrated using reverse osmosis. This yields a 10:1 aloe vera extract (10 parts fresh plant = 1 part extract). Finally, the pH is adjusted. Dilution further reduces the concentration to 2:1, meaning an extract twice as concentrated as fresh aloe vera juice (2 parts fresh plant = 1 part extract).

Usage tips

You can add aloe vera to the daily ration; when possible, give it twice a day. Recommendations: Horses and ponies: as directed by your veterinarian, 50 to 120 ml per day. Dogs: up to 25 kg, 2.5 to 5 ml per day. Over 25 kg, 5 ml per day, increasing up to 10 ml. Cats (average weight 4 kg): 10 to 15 drops twice a day (1 ml = 20 drops).
