The bit with movable rings moves freely within the mouthpiece. As a result, rein aids are transmitted less directly than when the rings are fixed to the mouthpiece. To prevent the skin from being pinched between the movable rings, it is advisable to use rubber bit rings.

The elliptical mouthpiece is the first example of a double-jointed mouthpiece with an elliptical joint. As a result, the mouthpiece exerts more pressure on the middle of the tongue. This double-jointed mouthpiece conforms more closely to the shape of the mouth and adapts more freely. This bit exerts greater pressure on the tongue than a single-jointed mouthpiece.

Sweet Iron bits are made of iron and feature their famous blue color, achieved through heating during production. Upon contact with (humid) air, Sweet Iron develops a sweet-tasting, rusty surface that naturally stimulates saliva production. This rusting (oxidation) process transforms the blue color of TRUST bits into silver or gray-brown, a desirable effect for Sweet Iron bits. If a Sweet Iron bit is not used for a period of time, a layer of brownish-orange rust may appear on the mouthpiece. This can be easily removed by wiping the mouthpiece with a damp cloth. This layer of brownish-orange rust is harmless. Sweet Iron bits are suitable for all horses and promote lathering, thus improving the horse's acceptance of the bit.
